loops
In Loop 1, devices are created that combine human figures, materials and gestures. Thanks to the exchange of spatio-temporal characteristics between the two media, these devices demonstrate a transition between appearance and disappearance.
Loop 2 involves the creation of devices driven by repetition. The works in Loop 1 are subject to time and extend the passage from one loop to another, while continuing the hybridisation of media in parallel.
The works in Loop 2 are the same as those in Loop 1. They have been rephotographed and refilmed. Consequently, the image changes from one loop to the next.
These devices result in the disappearance of the subject, favouring an accumulation of matter in darkness.
The material attempts to preserve the presence of the figure it erases.
Loop 3 features devices driven by repetition. Some of the works in Loop 2 are subject to time and extend the passage from one loop to another, while continuing the hybridisation of media. The devices are moving further and further towards the disappearance of the subject, favouring an accumulation of matter in the darkness instead. This matter tries even harder to retain the presence of the figure it erases.
The works in Loop 3 are the same as those in Loop 2. They have been rephotographed and refilmed. Consequently, the image changes from one loop to the next.
The image support in Loop 3 is equipped with a projection device and a space that makes the image appear to disappear. This new support offers a fresh perspective on video and photographic images. The combination of material and the dematerialised image produced by the device creates an image that is both present and absent.
